Job Description

Farm Credit of Southern Colorado (FCSC) is seeking a Loan Officer to join our team. The Loan Officer will be responsible for achieving growth of loan portfolio in assigned territory through professional marketing and visibility, while creating and maintaining existing lending relationships. This position is full time, working approximately 40 hours a week, and is benefits eligible. Occasional travel may be required to sufficiently support other locations within territory. Position Summary: The Loan Officer will be responsible for achieving growth of loan portfolio in assigned territory through professional marketing and visibility, while creating and maintaining existing lending relationships. They will also be able to identify opportunities to create new relationships by leveraging Agricultural producer networks and referrals to build relationships to achieve business results. The chosen candidate must be able to communicate the value of Association products and of doing business with Farm Credit. The Loan Officer processes, analyzes, and services a moderate to high volume of mortgage and commercial loans of various sizes. Works collaboratively with functional teams within the organization. Minimum Qualifying Characteristics: Driver's License Knowledge of agricultural operations Knowledge of agricultural markets Knowledge of financial statements and mathematical concepts Knowledge of financial structuring and loan products Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and methods Knowledge of credit administration and portfolio management procedures Knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook sufficient to create, update and save basic documents Skill in oral and written communication, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and borrowers Skill in establishing and maintaining productive relationships within and outside the organization, borrowers and vendors Skill in gathering, compiling and organizing information Skill in listening closely to understand the speaker's intent Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a borrower's problem or issue to find resolution Skill in interacting and working effectively with others Skill in focusing and concentrating on details Skill in applying processes and procedures to factual data to make a logical decision Skill in reasoning persuasively to sell or promote financial services and products Farm Credit of Southern Colorado is an Equal Opportunity Employer dedicated to diversity in the workplace and offers a great work environment. Seniority and accompanying compensation will be dependent upon level of experience and knowledge. This range is a good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this posting. Actual salaries could vary and may be above or below the range as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2. Variation is based on various factors including but not limited to location, qualifications, experience, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
