The Firm:

We are a fine wine and spirits public relations firm located in San Francisco for 22 years. Our primary role is to obtain favorable product publicity through traditional and digital national media outreach. In addition to media relations, we engage in social media and marketing strategies, event planning and management, and collateral writing and development. Our relationships with media and influencers are critical for our wine and spirit brands success in reaching both trade and general consumer interest editors. We are a small firm and work with integrity, honesty, dedication and creativity.

The Candidate:

Account Managers / Directors lead and manage client accounts, build strong media relationships and design communications strategies. You will participate in brainstorming and strategy sessions for your accounts as well as those of your colleagues. You will share in managing Account Coordinators on the day-to-day account responsibilities.

As an Account Manager/ Director, you will:

  • Build and manage relationships with media
  • Develop client public relations and digital media plans and strategies
  • Lead weekly client meetings and conference calls
  • Create and edit client messaging, stories, press materials, press releases and media sends
  • Pitch clients brands to the appropriate media contacts, field questions and follow up
  • Develop influencer partnerships for appropriate brands
  • Coordinate client events and press trips
  • Train and manage supporting Account Coordinators
  • Track time spent per client and manage client expectations
  • Review client budgets, expenses and invoices
  • Provide clients with expert counsel and proactive service
  • Participate in educational opportunities and industry events

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience in public relations industry
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, energetic, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, team player
  • Effective thinking to find positive resolutions to challenges
  • Organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong media relationships, wine and spirits preferred
  • Digital marketing and social media experience preferred
  • Creativity, ability to think outside the box
  • Professional interest in the wine and spirits industry, and a passion for wine, spirits and food
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Google Drive
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field such Journalism, Communications or English
  • Current, valid driver's license
  • Must be able to travel locally and out of state
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (case of wine)
  • Must be able to come into the office for work up to four days/week, remote on most Fridays
